tropical white springtails

Tropical white springtails can be used as a “cleaning crew” for ant farms. They are the perfect housemates for ants, as they eat everything, including mould, waste and pretty much anything you don´t want to have in your ant farm. This keeps your ant farm clean and healthy and prevents unpleasant smells. Most ants ignore them, but for some smaller species (e.g., jumping jacks) they even serve as a great protein snack. Springtails are harmless to ants, self-regulating by the amount of food available and very effective.
They are widely used for reptile-keeping in terrariums for the same purpose. So why not use them for ant farms as well? In nature, springtails also live in ant nests, provided that the right temperature and humidity conditions exist.
